Zhenyu Xue, Ph.D.

Dr. Zhenyu Xue is a Senior Engineer at Veryst Engineering. He specializes in plasticity, fracture mechanics, buckling and structural stability, shock physics, geomechanics, high strain rate impact, multi-physics simulations, and engineering application software development. Dr. Xue has extensive experience in constitutive modeling for composites and other nonlinear materials. His expertise also includes the modeling and testing of various materials and structures, as well as advanced simulations for complex mechanical systems. His work is applicable to manufacturing processes, consumer products, composite structures, polymer components, and the automotive, aerospace, and oil and energy industries.

Prior to joining Veryst Engineering, Dr. Xue was a principal scientist at Halliburton Jet Research Center and a senior scientist at Schlumberger. In these positions, he was responsible for developing computational modeling tools and testing techniques to facilitate the development of perforating technology. He has also developed non-destructive testing methods and image processing software for defect inspection of explosive materials and powdered metal parts. Dr. Xue has also worked as a research associate at Harvard University conducting research on the analysis and modeling of lightweight structures, and computational modeling of ductile fracture.
