PT001 – Planar tension testing:

Monotonic to max. stress/strain


Description

A planar tensile test is performed at a given crosshead speed. Strain is measured using a non-contact extensometer.

Temperature Options

This test can generally be performed at any temperature between -80ºC and 250ºC.

  • CT: Cryogenic temperatures (-80ºC to 20ºC)

  • RT: Room temperature (~ 20ºC)

  • HT: High temperatures (20ºC to 250ºC)

Strain Rates        

Strain rates up to ~ 1/s are possible, depending on specimen geometry.

Specimen Requirements        

Specimen must have a width-to-height ratio of 10:1.

Note that we request extra specimens to ensure a sufficient supply of specimens for valid testing.
